FAQ

What are the minimum system requirements for Divine Frequency?
The Steam store lists 64-bit; OS Windows Vista*; CPU 2.4 GHz dual-core; RAM 2 GB; GPU OpenGL 3.3; 1 GB storage; and broadband internet. The asterisk on Windows Vista is on the store page as published—confirm OS support on the live Steam listing.
Can I play Divine Frequency on Linux with Proton?
There is no native Linux build on Steam. GamingOnLinux (2026-10-27) reports the Windows build on Steam played just fine via Proton 11 in their test—single article, not an official Linux port or Valve compatibility badge.
Does Divine Frequency support macOS?
Steam app details list Windows only—macOS and Linux are false in the store API snapshot we checked on 2026-10-28. There is no official Mac build listed.
Do I need a specific graphics card for Divine Frequency?
The store lists API levels (OpenGL 3.3 minimum; OpenGL 4.0 or Vulkan recommended), not NVIDIA/AMD model names or VRAM. We found no official FPS targets—use the performance guide if you stutter despite meeting the API line.
Is Divine Frequency Steam Deck Verified?
Our reviewed sources do not state Steam Deck Verified or Playable status. Only GamingOnLinux’s Proton 11 Windows-build test is on record—treat handheld play as untested here, not confirmed.

Can my PC run Divine Frequency?

Divine Frequency by Abraxaes (Steam AppID 2548880) is Windows-only. Official specs require 64-bit, OpenGL 3.3 minimum (2 GB RAM, 1 GB storage) or OpenGL 4.0 / Vulkan recommended (8 GB RAM, Windows 10)—no GPU models or FPS targets on the store page. GamingOnLinux reports the Windows build via Proton 11 “plays just fine” in one test; macOS, native Linux, and Steam Deck badges are not documented in our sources.

These values are copied from the Steam store system requirements as observed 2026-10-28. We do not “correct” store wording (including the Windows Vista* label).

Requirement Minimum Recommended
OS 64-bit; Windows Vista* 64-bit; Windows 10
Processor 2.4 GHz Dual-Core Quad Core 2.4 GHz
Memory 2 GB RAM 8 GB RAM
Graphics OpenGL 3.3 OpenGL 4.0 or Vulkan
Storage 1 GB available space 1 GB available space
Network Broadband internet connection (not listed separately on recommended row)

The asterisk on Windows Vista appears on the live store page; we have no separate footnote text in the fact library beyond that marker—check the Steam listing for any linked explanation.

Because the game builds on GZDoom / UZDoom-family tech (per GamingOnLinux and demo-era dev notes), API requirements matter more than a “RTX 4060 or better” style line. If you are borderline on OpenGL, also read engine, GZDoom/UZDoom, and Windows Defender for launch and security-tool context—not for extra FPS guarantees.

Does Divine Frequency have a native Mac or Linux version?

No in the official store data we use: Steam appdetails shows Windows supported and macOS / Linux not supported (2026-10-28 snapshot). itch.io lists the same project with keyboard and mouse inputs but does not replace the store’s platform matrix. There is no documented native Linux port from Abraxaes in the sources reviewed for this page.

Can I play on Linux with Proton?

There is no Linux depot on Steam for Divine Frequency. GamingOnLinux (article dated 2026-10-27, observed 2026-10-28) states the title is built on GZDoom / UZDoom and that the Windows build via Proton 11 on Steam “plays just fine” in their testing. That is one publication’s Proton experiment—not an official compatibility promise, not a crowd-tested matrix, and not a substitute for checking ProtonDB or your own distro today.

We do not claim Steam Deck Verified, Playable, or handheld-specific settings: none of the fact-library sources we cite mention Valve’s Deck tiers. If you rely on Deck or SteamOS, plan on self-testing the Windows build under Proton and expect possible stutter or VSync quirks reported on Windows—see performance and stutter fixes for community workarounds, not official Linux support.

What do the requirements not tell you?

The Steam table is thin on practical buying advice—by design in our sources, not because we withheld data:

  • No VRAM floor and no named GPU models—only OpenGL 3.3 vs OpenGL 4.0 / Vulkan. A laptop with an old integrated chip that advertises OpenGL 3.3 may still hitch; the store will not warn you.
  • No official FPS or resolution targets—we did not find published “60 FPS at 1080p” language from Abraxaes. If you need a smooth experience on day one, read player reports cautiously in the performance guide rather than inferring from minimum RAM.
  • Stutter and GPU spikes show up in Steam discussions and itch.io known issues (VSync behavior, HUD scale reports). Those symptoms are not reflected in the requirements block—see performance and stutter fixes for hedged community steps.
  • Controller, language, and content scope (partial gamepad support, English-only UI, ~4–6 hours in two acts) affect whether the game feels “worth it” on your hardware and your setup—is Divine Frequency worth it? covers the purchase side.

1 GB storage is almost certainly an install floor, not total save and shader cache headroom; leave extra disk space on any PC or Proton prefix.
