FAQ

Where is brightness in Divine Frequency?
A 2026-06-22 pre-EA patch note says brightness was moved higher in the menu. Exact submenu names in Early Access are not fully cataloged in our sources—look in display/video options and confirm in-game.
Can I rebind keys in Divine Frequency?
A 2023 demo patch added a keybind menu with crouch hold/toggle and secondary fire binding, plus inventory quick-use hotkeys. No official full default key list was found as of 2026-10-28.
How do I open the console in Divine Frequency?
Genghis Khan (Project Lead) states the console opens with ~ (tilde). Typing language enu fixes erroneous Russian UI when the game auto-selects Russian despite English-only support.
Which HUD size should I use?
HUD scaling was added in a 2023 demo patch. One pinned Steam discussion suggests keeping HUD size at 1.0 for stutter—community-reported, not official. See the performance guide instead of treating this page as a fix list.
Should I use VSync in Divine Frequency?
itch.io lists a known issue: VSync destroys framerates though it sometimes helps—a known bug per the developer page. Toggle and compare; details live on the performance and stutter fixes guide.

What settings does Divine Frequency document today?

Divine Frequency by Abraxaes is keyboard and mouse on itch.io, with menu details scattered across demo and pre-EA patch notes plus developer Steam replies—not a full EA options manual. Documented items include brightness placement, HUD scaling, keybind menu entries, inventory quick-use hotkeys, a ~ console, and language enu for Russian UI bugs. Confirm every toggle in your current Early Access build.

You may see Repair Spray and Repair Device in item names after the 2026-06-22 rename—cosmetic terminology, not a settings toggle.

Partial gamepad notes live on controller support—not duplicated here.

Where is brightness?

The Last Patch Before EA announcement (2026-06-22) states brightness was moved higher in the menu—a QoL change so players find it faster. Our fact library does not record the exact submenu label (Video, Display, etc.) in Early Access. Open Options (or equivalent) after launch and scan display-related entries; if brightness is missing or buried, compare against a demo video at your own risk or ask in the official Discord linked from itch.io.

Can I rebind keys?

Partially, per patch notes—not a published full layout. The 2023-11-07 demo update documents a keybind menu with crouch hold/toggle and secondary fire binding, plus inventory quick-use hotkeys. Those features are Demo-era announcements; they may persist in EA but are not guaranteed without in-game confirmation.

No official full key list (movement, interact, reload, duel actions, etc.) appears in the sources reviewed as of 2026-10-28—only a few screenshot-visible labels (see section below). We do not guess default WASD or function-key bindings. If you need every action mapped, inspect the in-game keybind menu after updating to the latest build, or watch verified EA footage—without treating community videos as official docs.

For gamepad experiments (unsupported UI), see controller support.

What is the console for?

Genghis Khan (Project Lead) documents two console facts on Steam: press ~ (tilde) to open the console, and type language enu to fix erroneous Russian UI when the game auto-sets Russian even though the store lists English only. That is a localization bug workaround, not a cheat menu reference.

For step-by-step context and when to use language enu, use language stuck on Russian fix rather than repeating the full thread here. Abraxaes has not published a general console command list for graphics or gameplay tuning in the sources we cite—do not assume Source-engine-style cvars.

Which HUD size should I use?

The 2023 demo patch added HUD scaling. Separately, a pinned Steam discussion (Lupmzzcat) links HUD size kept at 1.0 with less stutter—community-reported, with the quirk that larger HUD scale numbers in the menu mean a smaller on-screen HUD in that poster’s description.

We do not treat HUD size as an official performance fix. Read performance and stutter fixes for VSync (itch.io known bug), alt-tab GPU reports, GL Texture Precaching, and mouse polling suggestions—then test HUD 1.0 if your symptoms match the stutter thread.

Crosshair color (demo patch) and HUD scaling are comfort options; they do not replace meeting OpenGL requirements on system requirements and Proton.

Which default controls are visible in official screenshots?

We still have no official full key list as of 2026-10-28, but official Steam store screenshots show a few on-screen labels—not a complete binding chart:

  • [Mouse1] Use Item and [Mouse2] Options on the inventory item panel (Canned Fruit capture, screenshot #8) — visible labels; full mouse binding behaviour not documented in reviewed text.
  • [B] beside the STANDARD / SEMI-AUTO / FULL-AUTO fire-mode readout (HUD screenshots #4/#7/#10) — visible label; whether B cycles modes in every build is not documented here.
  • Tab on a HUD quick-slot cluster (same HUD captures) — visible label; assign/use behaviour not documented in reviewed text.

For how those HUD strings sit next to Radiation, PT / PR / ER, and the Attribute panel, see HUD and inventory explained.

Bottom-right corner of a Divine Frequency screenshot with the [B] label printed above the FULL-AUTO fire-mode readout, and a Tab-labelled quick slot at the top left: the only control labels the official images show.
